Key Features

Media Bias Ratings

Ground News displays political-bias information for thousands of news publications.

Sources can be organized across perspectives such as:

• Left
• Lean Left
• Center
• Lean Right
• Right

This makes it easier to see where the reporting you consume sits within the wider media landscape.

Ground News states that its bias ratings incorporate information from independent media-monitoring organizations including AllSides, Ad Fontes Media and Media Bias/Fact Check.

Compare Different Sides of a Story

Instead of showing only one publisher's version of an event, Ground News groups multiple articles covering the same story.

This allows you to:

• Compare headlines
• See which publications are covering a story
• Compare Left, Center and Right coverage
• Discover alternative perspectives
• Identify differences in framing
• Read reporting from multiple publishers

It's particularly useful when a major political or international story is being presented differently by different outlets.

Coverage Distribution

Ground News provides visual information showing how coverage of a story is distributed across the political spectrum.

For example, you may be able to quickly see whether reporting comes primarily from:

LEFT • CENTER • RIGHT

This helps reveal when a story receives considerably more attention from one side of the media landscape than another.

Limited Blindspot Feed Access

Ground News' Blindspot system highlights stories receiving disproportionately more coverage from one side of the political spectrum.

Pro provides limited access to this feature.

Blindspots can help you discover important stories that may not normally appear within your usual news environment.

For unlimited Blindspot access, Ground News currently requires a higher subscription tier such as Premium.

Personalized News Feed

Customize Ground News around the subjects that matter to you.

Depending on available Pro controls, you can:

• Follow interests
• Follow news sources
• Follow topics
• Reduce unwanted content
• Hide selected topics
• Hide selected publishers
• Build a more relevant personal news experience

This allows Ground News to function both as a media-comparison tool and as your everyday news reader.

50,000+ News Sources

Ground News aggregates reporting from more than 50,000 news publications worldwide.

Rather than relying on one newspaper, television network or website, Ground News can connect multiple reports about the same event into a single story page.

Coverage can include:

• International news
• US news
• Politics
• Business
• Technology
• Science
• World affairs
• Finance
• Culture
• Environment
• Local news
• Independent publications
• Major news organizations

Available publishers and coverage continuously change as news develops.
